Article 2586. National Law of a Natural Person
(1) The national law of a citizen is the law of the state of which the natural person is a citizen.
(2) If the natural person holds two or more citizenships, the national law is the law of the state with which the person has the closest connection, particularly through their habitual residence or the place where they primarily conduct their activities.
(3) The national law of a citizen of the Republic of Moldova who, according to foreign law, is considered to have another citizenship is the law of the Republic of Moldova.
(4) The national law of a stateless person is the law of the state in which the stateless person has their habitual residence, or in the absence of this, their temporary residence.
(5) The national law of a refugee is the law of the state granting asylum, unless otherwise provided by the law of the Republic of Moldova or international treaties to which the Republic of Moldova is a party.
(6) The determination and proof of citizenship are made under the law of the state whose citizenship is invoked.
(7) For the purposes of this Book, the habitual residence of a natural person acting in the exercise of their business is the place where that person is registered as a business.
